Anticipation

Certain environments require more active anticipation than others. In business, as with driving, not anticipating others actions could instantly result in disaster.

Although, it is not just enough to just anticipate – you must also adapt and prepare for immediate change, should it be called for. Hitting the brake, hitting the accelerator or taking an alternative route need to be considered.

Anticipation in business may or may not be as immediately destructive as a car accident, it depends on the scenario. Market changes, competition’s actions and even internal restructuring will have repercussions – they could be positive or negative; it is important to be aware of the potential impact of each.

How have you been evaluating your actions and inactions within the business environment? Are you prepared for potential threats and opportunities?
